2022: A Year in Review for Resident Skeptics

Here we are.

December 31.

The day where we all reflect on what was as we look ahead into what will be.

For Resident Skeptics, 2022 was a whirlwind. We relaunched our weekly podcast in July with a team, a mission, and a determination.

As we reflect on what was (and according to our Spotify Wrapped 2022, that was 2,124 minutes of content), here are some of our highlights (and keep reading for some hints of what will be in 2023).

Local Midterm Elections Brought Unexpected Friends

2022 just so happened to be the local midterms, which we don’t need to remind everyone was a big deal. With our location being in NC, we were hyper focused on local elections and met some amazing people running for elected offices.

Revisit those episodes below:

Resident Skeptics Branched Out of NC with PublicSq.

With NC being home base, most of our guests were local. That changed in September when we had the opportunity to interview Christina Werner, the VP of Partnerships for PublicSq, a newly-launched app paving the way for customers to shop their values. PublicSq, and Christina, are based in California and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to talk to someone with a West Coast perspective of what’s happening in the world.

Blessed a Local Family this Christmas with the Power of the Internet

Resident Skeptics teamed up with Instagram community, Conservative Women of NC (CWNC) to sponsor the wish list of a Charlotte, NC family through our friends at Human Coalition. We circulated an Amazon wish list on all our respective socials from December 16th-23rd and asked for purchases of needed items.

We were blown away at the response. 60 out of 68 items from the list were purchased totaling OVER $1000 in items.

We’ve been in contact with Human Coalition and confirming items have been received and both Human Coalition and the family have expressed their gratitude. This was an amazing opportunity the rekindled our hope in humanity and we’re grateful.

KUDOS to Michelle from Conservative Women of NC for partnering with us!

We Had OUR First Interview(s)

At the end of September, Team Resident Skeptics hit up the Salt & Light Conference in Charlotte, NC where we met Chad Hawley, the creator of the app, NEXUS. At the conference, Jordan and Connor did a live interview about their mission with Resident Skeptics.

On November 15th, Jordan and Connor tuned into PJNET.tv live from their studio for an interview with Coach Prasek. It was only 20 minutes, but the response was incredible. The rumble recording exceeded our expectations with over 900 views.

If you think 2022 was a whirlwind, it won’t hold a candle to what’s in store in 2023. We’ve got plans for new guests starting in January, plus bringing back some favorites from 2022.

Our 2022 content was a bit politics heavy due to current events, so 2023 will allow us to branch out into some of the other tough topics of today. While we can’t spill the beans on details quite yet, you should follow us on Instagram or subscribe on YouTube to stay in the know with what will be in 2023.

Stay Skeptical and we’ll see you in 2023.
