Counterfeiters and Communists

Author: Noel Estabrook

I recently found myself in a conversation with a man I’ll call Roman. He is an immigrant from Romania, a communist country.

As we talked, and as he explained how obvious it was to him that America is heading toward socialism, even communism, I thought back to something I learned about bank tellers many years ago.

One of the things every bank teller must learn is how to identify counterfeit bills. For obvious reasons, these workers need to be able to distinguish legitimate currency from the fake stuff. What is interesting is how tellers are trained to do this. You might think that they are exposed to a variety of counterfeits so that they can learn to recognize bills that aren’t authentic.

However, this is not how it’s done.

Instead, tellers are taught to spot the counterfeits by constant exposure to the genuine article. Through constant contact with the characteristics of authentic currency, they learn to easily identify the fakes.

It is possible for any American who is paying attention and is a student of history to realize that the progressives in our culture and government are leading us down a path of socialism, or even worse. However, to recognize this, we have to study the past, understand our Republic’s founding, and come to know how nations with opposing ideologies came to be.

For Roman, all this hard work isn’t necessary, because he lived the real thing every day for several decades. He’s the bank teller in the booth, and when he says we in America are quite socialist, and worsening practically by the day, we need to listen to him, because he knows what he’s talking about.

Progressives are counterfeit Capital D Democrats. They try and convince us that they care about the Constitution and democracy, and its preservation, but nothing could be further from the truth.

They’re selling you a bill of goods.

How?

As Roman explained, you can tell by the amount of propaganda, indoctrination and suppression of free thought in which they deal.

His kids, now in high school, come home with disbelief as to the things they are being taught. Their teachers and schools are no longer concerned with teaching them how to do geometry, but rather how math should be “equitable” (whatever that means).

Historical facts are no longer taught, but rather historical interpretation through a Marxist lens is hammered into them over and over until, numbed by the Novocain of left-wing doctrinaires, they are unable to think on their own, but are instead able to only repeat the vague and undefinable relativities of diversity and pronouns and social justice.

We would do well to listen to Roman, and other everyday experts like him. People like him have lived it. They intrinsically recognize the fake purveyors of democracy because they know what the social diktats of communist conformity look like. They can tell us we are being slowly boiled alive by indoctrination that we blindly ignore.

Roman told me he came to America fourteen years ago because, in his words, “America was the only place in the world you could go where, if you worked hard, you could succeed and make something of yourself.” I asked him if he still felt that way about our great nation.

“I’m not so sure anymore.”
